...and I ended up watching the finale for Season 3. I think it may be my favourite episode of the series.

We watched all of it except the last season. We sort of fell off the wagon. Eh, in the next weeks, we’ll do it.

What’s the premise behind Mad Men? I’ve been looking for a new series to get into.

It’s much more of a ambiance soap opera series than a long twisty plot series.

But if you like whiskey, make sure you have a few cubes in the glass when you’re ready to start a new episode.

If you're a former smoker, god help you.

I watch it all and it and in the end I was just like.................................................oh....................................wow.

Its a good story and a “soap opera” I can get into, but its more addicting than its good. But I liked it.

Huh. I’ll have to give the series another shot. We couldn’t get through season 1.

Funny thing is, I didn’t get into Mad Men at first. It was available to watch at any time but I tried even just getting through the first couple of episodes and I couldn’t do it.

I must’ve tried watching it three times, at least. I’m not sure why I kept giving it a shot but I started really, really enjoying it. It gets a lot better once you get to know the characters, and any interest in the show will depend on your interest in each character.

Season 2 opens up a lot, but if you can’t develop any interest in the characters, I’m not sure it would do any good. It’d probably work to do what I did: give it time (years) and you might find you like it.

That was a really good season and final episode.....beginning with Don drinking scotch at 9 AM...

**I’ll leave out the rest of the details so I don’t spoil it for those above that may watch it.**

But, one of the best lines is Roger Sterling asking Peggy to get him some coffee, and she says ‘No’....

The first couple season were good and the show seemed like it was going somewhere. In my opinion the rest of the show was geared like something was actually going to happen, instead if just followed don down his path of self discovering he’s a scumbag but guess what, we knew that before. Nothing interesting really occurred and frankly it was quite boring, it never lived up to the magic of the first couple seasons. They should have stopped there. Once Don reveals his secret the show basically becomes a duece.

There was a bunch of funny stuff in that episode - it’s also great to see Peggy change as the series goes on. Don’s basically the same throughout the series but Peggy is a really likeable character.

You’re right in that he’s not that interesting a character once the secret is out - he doesn’t develop as the series goes on. I find that while he may be the centerpiece of the show, there’s still so much more that goes on with other characters - I always enjoyed episodes that were more focused on Peggy or Joan who have actual hardships to deal with as opposed to Don who marinates in a mix of his own self-pity/self-loathing, alcohol, nicotine, and women.
